Learning unit contents :
The course has a C1 CEFR level. It focuses on synthesis and report-writing capacities (as started in the English for Sciences 3 course).
Learning outcomes of the learning unit :
At the end of this course, students will be able to present scientific information in correct and consistent English in writing.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills :
English for Sciences 3 (taught in the third year of the Bachelor's Degree in Sciences).
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
The course features 10 three-hour classes. Each class requires a long preparation which is essential and mandatory. There are no ex-cathedra lectures but rather writing workshops in which students will be asked to take part actively.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :
The in-class course is taught for three hours each week.
Recommended or required readings :
Course notes (in the form of Power Point slides) will be posted regularly on eCampus. Students are asked to check the updates every week.
Assessment methods and criteria :
Written exam in January.
