Learning unit contents :
The aim of this course is to improve the knowledge and the know-how acquired by the student on a linguistic level (structures, vocabulary) taking into account the multicultural and international features of their environment.
Taught in German - and in French for grammar explanations
Learning outcomes of the learning unit :
In connection with the KLOs, this course aims to help the students: - to communicate efficiently in German, taking into account the multicultural and international features of their environment; - to be curious and rigorous. At the end of the year, the student should be able to communicate orally and in writing in German at the European level A2+/B1-. He should be able to understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance, to communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters and to describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment. Prerequisite knowledge and skills :
European A2 level (the learner can read and understand simple messages and communicate in simple terms)
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
Written and oral exercises.
Debates based on short articles and videos.
Working with the textbook "Unternehmen Deutsch"
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :
Course one hour/week  and homework

Assessment methods and criteria :
Written exam (80 %):
In January Grammar and vocabulary exercises and short essay
Listening comprehension about episodes of the series « Jojo sucht das Glück » (Deutsche Welle) ;
In June Grammar and vocabulary exercises and short essay. Listening comprehension about "Unternehmen Deutsch"

Oral exam (20 %):
There is no real oral exam but continuous assessment based on attendance and in-class participation.
Students have to take all the different parts of the examination, otherwise the final mark will be 0/20
