Learning unit contents :
This course will deal with of the relations between Sciences and Societies. It will be organised around three subjects : Science's issues, Actor-Network-Theory and the place of living beings in the social sciences.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit :
The learning outcomes of the course will be :
  • to understand environmental controversies in their complexity;
  • to understand and work with different theoretical frameworks and use of different analytical tools to deal with controversies;
  • to be able to read and be accountable of scientific litteratures.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
A bundle of text will serve as material in support of the course. The texts for which a reading note card will be written have to be read prior to the corresponding session.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :
The class mixes ex cathedra sessions and seminar sessions.

The articles will be made available to students.
Assessment methods and criteria :
An oral examination will take place in january.

Active student participation is necessary for the dynamic of the course as it is based on their presentation and group discussion.
