| The course aims to provide students with know-how necessary for their thesis but also for the long term, as part of lifelong learning. The theoretical and technical notions dealt with will relate to the principles and methods of scientific communication, document searches and information management. | ||||||||

| The objective of this course is to provide the student with elements required to critically appraise the scientific data of his future professional activities, and his end of study work. | ||||||||

| By the end of this course, you should be able to: 1. Ask precise questions and extract the various concepts from them (PICO); 2. Use controlled vocabulary to construct efficient query syntax; 3. Use the search tools and documents best adapted to your needs, especially bibliographical databases such as Medline and SPORTDiscus; 4. Use ULg's library collections; 5. Select studies according to their level of evidence; 6. Practise targeted, fast and efficient reading, by making use of the standard structure of scientific articles; 7. Write in accordance with the basic rules that control the format of scientific publications; 8. Use a bibliographic software management program such as Mendeley. | ||||||||
