Learning unit contents :
Specially dedicated to international Law students and Law students admitted to the University of Liège under the Socrates-Erasmus Scheme, the course aims at considering some aspects of Belgian Private Law. After a brief introduction, the analysis encompasses : rights on movables and real estate property, general law of contracts and torts, part of Belgian law in relation with e-commerce.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit :
The course's main purpose is to shed light on some aspects of Belgian Private Law, especially with regard to property rights. It also provides an opportunity for foreign Law students to deepen the Law terminology in the French language.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills :
This course is dedicated to international or Socrates-Erasmus Law students; a sufficient knowledge of the French language is required.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :
The course consists as a rule in lectures given on the different subjects. In any case, students are warmly encouraged to participate in class discussion.
Recommended or required readings :
Students are provided with lecture notes. The latter will be available at the University Press (building B8) for the beginning of the course. Students are invited to obtain the notes for the first lecture.
Assessment methods and criteria :
Assessment will be by an oral exam organised in January. The exam will be held exclusively in the French language.
