Organisation and examination :
Teaching in the second semester
Units courses prerequisite and corequisite :
Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program
Learning unit contents :
The course is splitted into three parts:

1° Atom, electronic structure and molecular bondings.

2° The chemistry in water solution (acido-basic reactions, redox reactions) and their appliances in real life and in the industry .

3° Introduction to Carbon chemistry including reactivity of compounds with some real examples.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit :
The general objective of the course aims at giving to the students some knowledge of the fundamental laws which govern chimiical phenomena as well as chimical procedures used in the industry.
Another objective is explaining to students exemples of chemistry in the everyday life.
It gives essential notions to learn more specialized courses in the following years.

Strategy : The course will allow students to understand the scientific and technological context of a complex situation. A scientific course allow students to demonstrate scientific precision and a critical mind in the analysis of a complex situation.
Implementation : The course will train the student to ensure a good interface between the technological and managerial aspects when confronted with a complex situation.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills :
Basic notions of general chemistry and physics.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
2nd semester : 3h1/2 theory and 2h exercices by week.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :
