Contenus de l'unité d'enseignement :
| This course is dedicated to present up-to-date approaches, including biological biomarkers and imaging methods, to diagnose and prognosticate human diseases.
Students will learn how genomics and proteomics may help identify novel diagnosis and prognosis biomarkers of human diseases. In addition, students will learn which statistical methods are primarily used for evaluating the clinical relevance of emerging diagnosis and prognosis biomarkers. Finally, students will hear about the role of novel imaging approaches, including positron-emission computed tomography (PET) and function magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), in diagnosing and prognosticating human diseases. This course also details the benefits and limitations of studying stem cell biology to better understand the pathophysiology of human diseases. |

Acquis d'apprentissage (objectifs d'apprentissage) de l'unité d'enseignement :
| At the end of this course, students will be able to discuss each step of (i) discovery, (ii) validation and (iii) impact determination of emerging biological and imaging biomarkers in various fields of human medicine, as well as to appreciate the use of stem cells to further characterize the pathophysiology of human diseases. | |||||
