Droit et déontologie vétérinaires
  • The course of medical ethics has for objective to make become aware of the necessity of respecting rules during the exercise of the veterinary medicine.
The lectures of law and veterinary medicine aim to give to the future doctors in veterinary medicine an initiation to the rules of law to which they will be under the influence during the practice of their profession. This course includes 2 parts :
First part The first part of the course is dedicated to the study of the 5 types of norms that the veterinary surgeons encounter most frequently:
-) The international norms -) The laws and decrees -) The royal decrees -) The ministerial decrees and -) The conventions between private individuals
The study of each type of norm is illustrated by the statements of the rules that specifically interest the veterinary surgeons, like for example, the conventions concerning animals, the European decrees concerning education and setting up of veterinary businesses, the laws relevant to the protection of the well-being of animals, laws relative to animal health, the royal decrees applicable to these laws, the medical contracts, the employment contracts and V.A.T.
Second part The second part of the course is devoted to the implementation of the legal penalties. It includes:

Dispositions légales

Radioprotection et positionnement
This course is associated with the course on radiobiology which is also regulatory required by the Royal Decree. The veterinary medical degree is not enough to hold and manipulate a X-ray generator in Belgium. An X-ray user license issued by the Nuclear Control Federal Agency is mandatory. The course, regulatory referred, will enable graduates in medical veterinary field, willing in the future to use a X-ray generator in their offices, to obtain the user authorization of X-rays from the competent authorities.
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to understand the basic molecular and cellular mechanisms leading to pathological manifestations in humans. It will also be able to understand and apply the rules of radiation protection practices and know the relevant legislation.
