| Animal Welfare can be defined as a state of dynamic balance between the animal and its environment. Each animal as sentient being has special needs and limited coping abilities. The attempts of the animal to maintain or to adjust this balance may induce physical and mental sufferings, eventually harmful even on a health than on a performance point of view. Human-animal relationships can also be disturbed. Animal Welfare Science enables to enlight the debate concerning Animal Ethics.
