Course contents :
The main theoretical chapters are as follows: Introduction 1. Observing the atmosphere 2. Radiative processes and energy balance 3. Thermostatics 4. Atmosphere fundamental equations 5. Theory of atmospheric movements (geostrophic approximation, thermal wind, atmospheric waves, etc) 6. The planetary boundary layer (atmospheric turbulence) 7. Saturation and condensation processes 8. Large-scale atmospheric circulation  
Learning outcomes of the course :
The objective of the course is an introduction to atmopheric dynamics and meteorological processes.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills :
Good knowledge of mathematics and mechanics, basic knowledge of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
Exercises linked to the various chapters. Visit of a forest micrometerological site and illustration of acquisition and processing of meteorological data at this site.
