Course contents :
Introduction to the understanding of our universe beyond the Milky Way - distance scale - formation and properties of galaxies - active galactic nuclei - clusters and groups of galaxies - cosmology basics useful to understand the up-to-date vision of the formation and evolution of the universe (dark matter, gravitational lensing, cosmic microwave backrgound...)
Learning outcomes of the course :
Basic knowledge of the phenomena and methods of extragalactic astrophysics.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills :
Astrophysics (SPAT0033-1)
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
A personal research work will be asked to the students.

2h lectures in 1st semester
