Course contents :
Some of the principal mecanisms of social control will be examined in various fields, sucha as drugs use, risks prevention, mental health disease (via the Belgian model of social defense) and sentence enforcement (via prison and probation examples) .
Learning outcomes of the course :
The very first aim is to put in evidence the intimate connections which bound together such notions as "social control" and "social regulation", "caracteristics of social exchange" and "social order", devices, norms, values, measurement and behaviours.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
This course will be organized as a seminar. After two introductory sessions, the students will host several sessions during which experts will be invited to deliver their experiences. Their presentations will be discussed by the students.
