Course contents :

This class provides an introduction into the main concepts that define cognitive neurosciences, by presenting a broad panorama of the theoretical questions and the methods of this research discipline. The class privileges a multidisciplinary approach that characterizes cognitive neurosciences, and considers the interactions between brain and cognition both in healthy and brain injured populations.

Long-term episodic and semantic memory
Cognitive control
Social cognition and decision taking
Consciousness

Learning outcomes of the course :

The student will get familiarized with the main topics and methodologies of cognitive neurosciences.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills :

Cognitive psychology, cognitive neuropsychology, physiology of the nervous system

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :

Critical analysis of scientific texts provided by the teachers and integration with the lectures given by the teachers

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :

Face-to-face teaching + critical synthesis document of a subject chosen by the student
