| Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program | |||||
Course contents :
| Theory (lectures) : 20h
Labs and training: 15h This course is oriented to students in Physics with the aim to go deeper in one of the important chapter of their education program: optics We'll bring additional knowledge in geometrical optics as well as physics optics (mainly wave-optics). It also requires to study the basic of electromagnetism. |
Learning outcomes of the course :
| The goal of the course is to procure a solid basic in geometrical optics, insisting on the material properties and the applications.
Next, the physics optics develops the principle of light-matter interactions, interference, and diffraction. |
Prerequisite knowledge and skills :
| Physics and Mathematics learned during 1st Bachelor | |||||
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
| See next section | |||||
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :
| The course is organized during the 1st period.
Theory: 20h Every Wednesday morning Lab and training sessions: 10+5h Schedule will communicated to the students |
Recommended or required readings :
| Note book and slide copies are available (to be downloaded by the students: pdf files).
Additional notes about geometrical optics are available |
Assessment methods and criteria :
| A written exam takes place at the end of the 1st period.
A second session of exam (written) is organized in Aug/Sept. Lab reports are quoted. The quotation is taken into account at a level of 25% of the global total. |
