Course contents :
Mechanics of particle Particle : kinematics, dynamics, Work, Energy. Particle systems : Center of mass, momentum and angular momentum conservation. Kinematics and dynamics of Simple, damped and driven harmonic oscillator.
Learning outcomes of the course :
  • Initiation to scientific reasoning.
  • Initiation problem resolution (translation in a formal language, resolution of the formal problem, solution analysis and interpretation).
  • Learning of orders of magnitude and approximations.
  • Learning of fundamental physics laws.
After completing the course the student is expected to :
  • Identify, relate and apply the kinematic variables that describe particle, systems of particles or solid body movements.
  • Carry out a force budget of material systems.
