Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :
Second period Schedule agreed with students
The basic and fundamental concepts + the required technologies are teached by the Professor.
Moreover, the students are invited to prepare a subject as part of the course. This work will be evaluated. For that purpose, several books are available.
Recommended or required readings :
- Slides of lectures are available (pdf).

- Reference books :

  • Les Lasers et leurs applications, A. ORSZAG et G. HEPNER, Masson - 306 pages;
  • "Physique du Laser", R. FARCY, Dunod Université - 190 pages;
  • "Optics", E. HECHT, Addison-Wesley co. (2e ed et suivantes) - 676 pages, ainsi que de nombreux autres ouvrages et articles traitant du sujet.
Assessment methods and criteria :
25% is achieved by personal investigations and presentation. 25% is achieved by lab activities and reporting. 50% is achieved by exam.
The exam is based on exercice to be solved with lecture material + oral exam on the overall understanding.
According to the "paysage" decree, the certification is validated from a notation = 10/20.
