Course contents :
Courses dedicated to diseases of the kidneys during the 1st part of the Master of Medicine are mainly focussed on medical (but not surgical which are discussed during the second part in the Urology course) problems.
 The oral courses will described the main clinical and therapeutic aspects of the most frequent kidney diseases which can develop in children and/or adults (glomerular, vascular, interstitial, tubular diseases, inherited or acquired). Main aspects about acute and chonic renal insufficiency, dialysis and transplantation are also detailed.
Learning outcomes of the course :
To be able to identify patients at risk or already affected by a kidney disease, to characterize thz type of the disease, its severity and to be able to propose preventive and curative approaches and to apply the pharmacology rules to the low kidney function patients when they are treated by drugs.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills :
Anatomy, biochemistry, physiology, histology.
