| Study of Spanish grammar and practice with four linguistic abilities: reading, written and oral comprehension, writing and conversation. | ||||||||

Learning outcomes of the course :

| This course is intended to improve knowledge of Spanish morphology and syntax and to develop the communicative ability gained during the first year course. At the end of the course students should be able to apply and to explain grammar rules, and their ability to communicate should reach level C1 according to the common European frame of reference. | ||||||||

Prerequisite knowledge and skills :
|

| Mastery of elementary morphology and syntax and basic vocabulary. The diploma or certificate from the Spanish Language I course is thus required. | ||||||||

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :

| The Spanish II course is divided as follows: one hour of theoretical ex cathedra and two hours of " practical work " in small groups. These three hours are required. One additional hour (one hour reinforcement and conversation hour) is organized. It is optional but highly recommended. We also offer an optional hour of conversation for all students
Practice of the language from the manual and compulsory grammar. Translation and written exercises (possibly online) and active participation in class. |

Assessment methods and criteria :

| January session: a written test dispensational not mandatory but is organized. The score will be taken into account for the calculation of the access notes oral exam in June, except for students who have not obtained the average (see below). May-June: written exam and oral exam required. Only students who have obtained a rating of access to or greater than 7/20 may present the oral examination. Note Access = 1/3 of the written examination in January + 2/3 of the written exam in May. A list of students admitted to the oral exam in June will be published after the correction of the writing of May. For students who have passed the January exam, the final mark June is calculated from the mark obtained in the written examination in January (25%), that of the written examination in May ( 50%), and the one obtained for the oral examination (25%). For those who have not passed the exam in January, the final mark consists only of the written examination in May (75%) and oral exam in June (25%). In the second session, the final grade is composed of the written exam in August (75%) and oral exam in August (25%) for all students.
The oral examination is individual and concerns the Vía Rápida manual and on various cultural topics to the course, the student will deepen . The following aspects will be taken into account when evaluating the oral exam : the adequacy of responses in relation to questions, coherence ( discourse structure , use of connectors ... etc . ) , The phonetics , the ease and use of grammatical and lexical resources. |
