Organisation and examination :
Teaching in the second semester
Units courses prerequisite and corequisite :
Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program
Course contents :
Part I : Histology
Histology of skeletal muscles, tendons bones and joints

Bone growth, modeling, evolution with age
Part 2 : Biochemistry
This module presents the locomotive system's essential systems: muscles, tendons, bones, cartilage and ligaments.
Biochemistry is devoted to the molecular study of muscles and bones.
Part 3 : Physiology
1. Regulation of metabolism P-Ca 2. Muscle physiology
Part V : Special pathology
This module presents the locomotive system's essential systems: muscles, tendons, bones, cartilage and ligaments.

Learning outcomes of the course :
Part I : Histology
To understand histological and functional relations between the components of the musculoskeletal system
Part 2 : Biochemistry
To known the biochemical, anatomical, histological and physiological basis of the musculo-osteoarticular system in order to be able to understand the diseases of this system.
The biochemistry partim is specifically focused on molecular regulation of skelettal muscle cells and bones.
Part V : Special pathology
To teach physiopathology of main locomotor affections which can be treated (completely or partially) by physiotherapy techniques.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills :
Part I : Histology
General Histology

Anatomy notions
Part 2 : Biochemistry
General chemistry, general biology, histologie, cytology, general physiology, general biochemistry, human biochemistry.
Particular links with a course on the curriculum:
Upstream : Introductive anatomy, Physics and electricity (for electrotherapy)
