Course contents :
Translation from Ancient Greek and Greek prose composition. Some chapters from Greek grammar. In-depth analysis of Greek particles. Private reading.
Learning outcomes of the course :
Enhancing students' knowledge of Ancient Greek.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills :
Very good knowledge of Ancient Greek language (grammar, stylistics and vocabulary).

Active participation in the exercises.

Marcel Bizos, Cours de thème grec, Paris, Vuibert, 1999. ISBN 2-7117-7213-6. Additional course supports will be available on the Blackboard application eCampus. Private reading (Herodotus' book 4, 1-82) will be based on the Paris edition by Ph.-E. Legrand (Collection des Universités de France).
Assessment methods and criteria :
Tests during the year. Written final exam. Oral examination on the private reading. Written exam on the particles.
The mark of the midterm exam in January will count for 20% of the June final mark if > or = 10/20. The mark will have no effect on the final grade if it doesn't reach 10/20 and the final exam will then be cumulative.
