Course contents :
The course has a C1 CEFR level. It focuses on synthesis and report-writing capacities (as started in the English for Sciences 3 course).
Learning outcomes of the course :
At the end of this course, students will be able to present scientific information in correct and consistent English in writing.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills :
English for Sciences 3 (taught in the third year of the Bachelor's Degree in Sciences).
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
The course features 10 three-hour classes. Each class requires a long preparation which is essential and mandatory. There are no ex cathedra lectures but rather writing workshops in which students will be asked to take part actively.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :
The in-class course is taught for three hours each week.
Recommended or required readings :
Course notes (in the form of Power Point slides) will be posted regularly on eCampus. Students are asked to check the updates every week.
Assessment methods and criteria :
Written exam in January.
