Course contents :
The seminar will be devoted to the study of documents relating to the cities of the Roman West.
Learning outcomes of the course :
This seminar is the last stage of the training of the student in history before the execution of his/her term paper. It aims to strengthen these skills : autonomy, heuristic performances, ability to formulate a hypothesis, criticism...

The evaluation will be based:
  • on an oral presentation (1/3 of the final mark) during the second semester and relating to one/several city/ies of the Roman West (in order to evaluate your skills in heuristics and in oral expression) ;
  • on the written test of the June exam session (2/3 of the final mark), which will consist of a critical commentary of documents relating to the cities of the Roman West (in order to evaluate your skills in analysis, synthesis and written expression).
