This year, the question of "Museum and Politic" will be analysed.
Generally speaking, the museum project is a political project. Beyond the politician interactions wich could be positive or negative for the museum, I should point out two aspects:
  • the societal importance of museums;
  • the political responsability in creating, financing and controling museums.
After a brief theoretical introduction, the Seminar will be devoted to the analysis of several cases, including Louvre-Lens and Louvre-Abou Dabi, Federal belgian museums in comparision with Berlin situation, the Deutsche Hygiene Museum in Dresde.
Two cases will be presented by external reserchers : Laurent Olivier will speak about Archaeology and Nazisme and Michel Collardelle about the MUCEM project in Marseille.
Two day seminars will be organised in situ : the Red Star Museum in Antwerp and the Pôle muséal montois in Mons.
