Course contents :
The seminar in art history in the twentieth century is for students with prior knowledge of the artistic movements that mark the twentieth century. From specific questions ("The Documenta Kassel 2007", "The writings of artists," "Art in Belgium after 1945", "Marcel Duchamp"), the course requires a significant involvement of students through  giving presentations (written and oral) and active participation in discussions held during each course.

It is preferable that the student has already taken a general course on the history of twentieth century art.

Assessment methods and criteria :
As part of this course, the student will be asked :
1. To give a  talk (maximum 20 minutes) on a specific topic related to the theme of the course (mandatory topic). This should be a PowerPoint presentation. The idea is to introduce students to the practice of synthesis, both oral and written. In 20 minutes, he must be able to analyze a research topic in a clear and precise manner, to illustrate it in a relevant way through a PowerPoint presentation and answer questions from the teacher and other students 2. To write a report (6 pages excluding appendices). No plan imposed, but obligation to answer specific questions explained in the course. The objective is to evaluate the ability of the student to perform a personal scientific research and communicate the results through a written structured, clearly written and well-argued presentation. The assessment covers both the formal aspects (spelling, sentence construction, bibliography, etc.) and contents.
