1. Geometric crystallography. 2. Optical crystallography. |
Learning outcomes of the course :
| This course has a double goal: (I) understand the morphology, the crystal structure, and the chemical composition of mineral; and (II) identify minerals with the polarizing microscope (transmitted light). | |||||
Prerequisite knowledge and skills :
| For this course, prerequisite basic knowledges are necessary (level Bloc1): mathematics, trigonometry, physics, optics, and inorganic chmistry. | |||||
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
| Numerous hours of practical identification of minerals under the microscope. | |||||
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :
| Face-to-face learning. It is absolutely necessary to attend all practicals. | |||||
