| This introduction to land surveying present in a broad but superficiel way all the surveying operations (levelling, traversing, survey, setting out) and the associated instruments (levels, theodolite, total station). | ||||||||

Learning outcomes of the course :

| - to get a basic knowledge of surveying operations and practical methods - to get a basic knowledge of the instruments - to be able to organise a small surveying work - to be able to exchange with geomaticians | ||||||||

Prerequisite knowledge and skills :

| The course assumes good knowledge of basic mathematics: geometry, trigonometry, as well as of some elements of general physics: optical and electronic mechanics. | ||||||||

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :

| In addition to the theoretical course, 4 practical work sessions are organised (problem-based). These will include field work such as a closed levelling, a traverse and a tacheometric site survey. | ||||||||

Assessment methods and criteria :

| Each field work session will be the subject of a written report which is graded. The arithmetical average of these reports will account for a quarter of the points in the final assessment. The written examination is organsied for the remaining 3/4 of the points. Eventually, an oral examination is organised | ||||||||
