Course contents :
Part 1 : theorical basis of ite characterisation - abiotic characterisation - floristic indicators - ecological land classification
Part 2 : case study of Wallonia (Southern Belgium) - abiotic tools : site parameters, ecoregions, reference matrix, site typology. - floristic indicators : phytogeography, indicator species and groups, syntaxonomy. - site types catalogue
Learning outcomes of the course :
The student will be able to characterise forest site and interpret landscape, at the office (GIS) or on the field, in terms of forest management potentialities. The course makes use of more theorical knowledge already acquired by the student (botany, phytosociology, geology, soil science).

Very good knowledge in :
