Analyses and factors of food insecurity
Emergency situations
Early warning systems
Monitoring and forecasting with agrometeorological tools

Learning outcomes of the course :

Give the students the ability to analyse the food insecurity of a given situation by teaching different methodologies applies operationaly in several developing countries. The student will make himself/herself familiar with some tools for specific analyses or monitoring of the food insecurity.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills :

Notions of remote sensing, climatology and agrometeorology
Basic knowledge of statistics

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :

Learning AGROMETSHELL, FAOCLIM and NEWLOCLIM

Exercise of yield forecasting on data from a developing country

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :

Lectures and practical works in one week
