Course contents :
Lectures will answer using economic modles the four main questions regarding international trade :
- Why do countries trade?

- What is the trade pattern?

- Who gains and who loses from international trade?

- What is the role of the state in international trade flows?
Learning outcomes of the course :
Acquiring knowledge about theoretical models explaining the reasons for international trade flows.
Understanding the impact of international trade on society.
Being able to apply the acquired knowledge to current debates.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills :
Introduction to economics
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
Theoretical models and concepts will be developed during the lectures. Applications and exercises will be covered with the teaching assistant.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :
- two hours/week lectures
- review of concepts and exercises with the teaching assistant
