Course contents :

After a study of various classifications or things and rights, especially the one into chattels and real property, the notions of possession and detention will be addressed. Indeed, possession constitutes the basis of several original ways of acquiring property that must be studied, in particular acquisitive prescriptionand the mechanism of article 2279 of the civil Code. Land registration stemming from the statute of 1851 will then retain our attention, before we address the vast topic of property (its characteristics, the problems of proof and the rei vindicatio) and mainly immovable property (in particular the matters of accession, demarcation and close). Next, co-ownership and joint-ownership will be examined, as well as the theories of abuse of right and neighborhood troubles. Finally , we study the main real rights : usufruct (as well as the real rights of use and inhabit) and easements, essentially easements created by man.

Learning outcomes of the course :

The aim is to teach students the basic principles of real estate, mainly through the study of property and main real rights.
