Course contents :

| The course consists of the analysis of texts written in Dutch - case law decisions and legal arti-cles. Lectures by Dutch guest speakers are organised. The objective is to give law students a less passive knowledge of Dutch. | ||||||||

| The knowledge of one foreign language is essential for any law-student. | ||||||||

| Students choosing this course must have studied Dutch at secondary school, and if possible also in their first year at the university. | ||||||||

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :

| Students must prepare the translation of specified texts before each class. They are called upon to translate a sentence in turn. The professor corrects or comments on the suggested translation. Students' interventions are not marked. | ||||||||

| An accurate translation into good French: 1. of two or three extracts from a text seen in class; 2. of an extract from a text not read in class but included in the collection of texts. | ||||||||
