Course contents :
The course aims to provide the student with the necessary theoretical framework in order to carry out a scientific research in the field of criminology. The course includes an epistemological reflection upon criminological knowledge and the relationships between theory and empirical data throughout the major criminological schools.  The different types of research in the field of criminology will be analyzed and more specific issues  will be adressed. Theoretical a tools will be put at the student's disposal for the development of his/her final work or in view of future researches.
Learning outcomes of the course :
Thecourse must enable the student to understand the conditions of criminology research, according to the different existing theoretical models, and to analyze them with a critical mind. The student must be able to transpose the available theoretical tools into his/her own research questions.

Criminological theories, Qualitative research methodology, Quantitative research methodology.
