Learning outcomes of the course :
| The aim of the course is to give the basis of biological wastewater treatment. We introduce the concept of municipal water treatment, then usual systems as activated sludge are presented.
After completing the course the student is expected to
state the different steps of wastewater collect, treatment and release in the environment
describe the main wastewater treatment scheme
describe untreated raw water impact on surface water
A torough knowledge of the context of waste valorization and the techniques associated (with a special emphasis on environmental biotechnology) will also be required |

Work placement(s) :
| A wastewater treatment plant will be visited and a report is expected (the report must be based on the unit operations diagram principle as described in the theoretical part of the lecture) | ||
