| Part time: Oganic + Biological The course will deal with synthesis, properties, and applications of several classes of organic/biological advanced materials. The recent developments in chemistry have enabled the synthesis of materials presenting more and more complex architectures, trying to compete with the complexity and sophistication of natural materials. The course will describe several strategies and principles used by nature to create complex hierarchical structures, highly organized, capable of fulfilling specific functions. It will show how chemists use those principles to synthesise functional organic or bio-hybrid materials. |
