Course contents :
The course is an overview of architectural history basics, from the greco-roman antiquity until the end of the nineteeth century.  
It addresses the following issues:
- architectiral history : evolution and actuality of the discipline;
- the architect through history;
- construction history;
- the classical language of architecture;
- the christian church from the Edict of Milan until eclecticism;
- the residence from antiquity until the nineteenth century.
Learning outcomes of the course :
This course aims at acquiring a good understanding of the important historical trends in architecture and at acquiring a specific and precise vocabulary.
It constitutes a first contact with research in the field of architectural history.
