Course contents :

This course comprises five seminar sessions where students learn the different stages of a research process.

Learning outcomes of the course :

To initiate students in a research process and support them in producing a personal piece of research work.
To remind them of the requirements of a piece of research work and provide the precise requirements linked to the dissertation.
Help elaborate the development of the research and establish a work schedule.
To strengthen the general skills required for research (bibliographical research, problematization, structuring ideas, etc.).
To allow discussion on the difficulties encountered during the research (access to the field, conceptualisation, method, theoretical framework, etc.).
To inform students of the Institute's resources.

3 seminar sessions and 2 sessions at the library.

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :

To support students in the dissertation process, various sessions will be organised during the year, according to a schedule that follows the desirable progress of the research. At the beginning of the year, there are frequent sessions in order to provide students with the necessary tools to begin their work. After that, the sessions are more spread out and help students to check the progress of their research. The sessions are optional.
