Course contents :

| Based on the partim 1, methodological, theoretical and epistemological questions raised by the anthropology of childhood and children will be addressed. More globally, this involves grasping what the anthropology of childhood and children can contribute to a better knowledge of children's worlds, the societies being studied and mankind in general. | |||||||||||

Learning outcomes of the course :

| Students will understand, through the examples studied in class, as well as their own ethnographic fieldwork, how to develop a position on methodological, theoretical and epistemological questions raised by the different approaches implemented in the field studied. They will also understand how to present a paper orally and to write a paper, according to scientific instructions (scientific and professionals). They will be abble to present the results o their work to non anthropologists (scientists or not) and to analyze social questions related to childhood in an anthropological perspective. | |||||||||||

| Students will write a scientific paper (based on their ethnographic fieldwork, partim 1), and a book review ; the students will also have to give a presentation orally during a "Methodology Seminar" organised during class. Their participation to learning activities will also be assessed. | |||||||||||
