Organisation et évaluation :
| Enseignement au deuxième quadrimestre | ||||||||
Unités d'enseignement prérequises et corequises :
| Les unités prérequises ou corequises sont présentées au sein de chaque programme | ||||||||
Contenus du cours :
| This course is the continuation of ELEC0014. It is devoted to the analysis of electric power systems in steady-state conditions, in the presence of faults, in balanced and unbalanced operating conditions. It extends the "system" approach initiatied in the course ELEC0014.
The material includes :
Acquis d'apprentissage (objectifs d'apprentissage) du cours :
| At the end of the course, the student will understand and will be able to use computational methods pertaining to steady state operation and in the presence of faults. Those methods are typically implemented in power system analysis software used by industry, that the student will be able to use with discernment. | ||||||||
Savoirs et compétences prérequis :
| The material taught in course ELEC0014 must be known to start this course.
Basic knowledge of MATLAB is also required. |
Activités d'apprentissage prévues et méthodes d'enseignement :
| The theory is taught and exercises are solved without devoting separate time slots to these two activities. On the contrary, exercises are inserted in the theoretical course in order to illustrate or extend the latter. When solving the exercises, interaction with the students is solicited.
A substantial homework (project) has to be performed by groups of two students. It involves various questions relative to a power system with enough complexity, whose data are provided. Those questions cover a large part of the material of courses ELEC0014 and ELEC0029 . The ARTERE software is distributed to the students. Some questions require to develop scripts in MATLAB language. |
Mode d'enseignement (présentiel ; enseignement à distance) :
| face-to-face. | ||||||||
Lectures recommandées ou obligatoires et notes de cours :
| Detailed lecture notes are available in French and can be downloaded from the Web page of the lecturer (see below). The student who does not understand French should contact the lecturer as soon as possible; he/she will be recommended specific chapters in one or two textbooks in English.
The slides used during the lectures are also available from the same Web page. |
Modalités d'évaluation et critères :
| Essentially a homework (outlined above).
The grade is transferred to the second session, unless the student decides to improve this work. |
Stage(s) :
Remarques organisationnelles :
| The course is taught during the second quadrimester, one half-day per week. Time will be left to perform the homework (see above) in the last part of the quadrimester.
2016 schedule : every Tuesday afternoon : 14:00 - 17:30 PM |
