Presentation

This course aims to allow holders of a Masters in Dental Sciences to acquire specific skills in dental care aimed at children. Candidates will become familiar with the specific care for milk teeth and young permanent teeth and will acquire experience of psychologically approaching young children in the dental chair.
Aspects of prevention, dental hygiene education and orthodontic interception will form part of the clinical training.
Alongside the clinical activities in the dental chair, which represent the bulk of the training, care under general anaesthetic, bibliographical studies and involvement in research work or in preventative programmes will complete the course.
This training does not lead to an officially recognised specialisation, but provides professional skills for practitioners wishing to work in the area of children's dental care.
