A.R. of 26.04.2007 (MB : 07.06.2007) : Royal Decree modifying the Royal Decree of 23 October 1964 setting the standards which hospitals and their departments must meet.

Presentation
|
Changes in the epidemiology of infections associated with healthcare activities, microbiology, care techniques and legislation are such that this requires precise training in order to acquire the professional knowledge in infection control and prevention, in line with A.R. of 26 April 2007, article 9b.
This certificate meets the legal requirements and qualifies the holder to work as a hospital hygienist doctor or nurse.

Special conditions of access / students concerned
|
This course is aimed at doctors, biological pharmacists, and nurses (maximum number of participants: 30).
Two indispensable prerequisites for nurses :
1. To hold a Baccalaureat diploma in nursing care.
2. Hold a degree/Masters in public health sciences.
|

Duration of the training
|
ECTS credits : 20
Basic course:
150 hours of theory and practical classes
Every Wednesday from 9am to 6pm from January to June.
|
Additional course :
150 hours for doctors and biological pharmacists and 100 for nurses which includes drafting the final thesis and participating in other training seminars in hospital hygiene (100 hours or 50 hours).

Assessment

The certificate can only be awarded after participation in basic training, additional training and successfully passing the final thesis.
