Presentation

The objective of the Complementary Masters in Paediatrics is to provide training which should enable students to be able to address the specific health problems associated with children. The programme includes basic training, Specific University Training (FUs) with the objective of learning how to treat children's overall health both in medical and social-familial terms. During the third year, this programme will include specific training lasting at least six months in neonatology. The following two to three years may be devoted to advanced training in general paediatrics and/or include a professional focus with a view to specialising in one of the areas of child medicine. Students will be appointed to the various internship departments on the basis of progress made in their training and their career direction.

Basic training (FUS) will be subject to assessment in line with the Royal Decree of 16 March 1999 modifying Royal Decree of 21 April 1983 setting the modalities for approving specialist doctors and general practitioners. If successful, the applicant will receive a certificate proving that he or she has successfully completed two years of training.
The five years of training will be rewarded with a degree. This degree will include drafting a dissertation or a publication and its defence before a Complementary Masters jury.

Duration of the training
|
- Five years of study : two years of basic study (FUS) and three years of specialised eductaion.
- Spreading the courses over several years is obligatory for FNRS delegates or holders of an equivalent mandate.
