A method is proposed of comparing each animal individual with the true type for its breed. Usual identification methods of horses and cattle are described. Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :   Appreciation of domestic animals Anatomic knowledges Planned learning activities and teaching methods :   Appreciation of domestic animals The students will be able to: estimate the age of horses and cattle, using morphological and particularly dental characteristics; complete the identification of a horse; assess the main skills and defects of an animal according to its use by man. A test will be organized during the practicals and will be take into account for about 20% of the practicals final note.
