Course contents :  
Introduction to SA surgery is carried out via the participation in receivings, surgical procedures and cares given to hospitalized patients.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
To practice surgical propedeutics

- To learn how to make a diagnosis, a pronostic and take a decision

- To learn how to assess pre and post operative status and to perform post-op cares

- To perform first line surgical procedures in the dispensary.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
To possess a diploma in Veterianry medicine acknowledged by the Communauté Française de Belgique and have performed a 1-year small animal rotating internship.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
Each student spends 8 weeks in the small animal dispensary.
