Course contents :
In most professions, communication is an essential task of scientists. Indeed, scientists publish their research results (in oral or written form), write reports, introduce research proposals, summarise information etc. This course focuses on two essential means of communication: oral presentation and poster presentation. After a theoretical introduction, each student presents a seminar (oral + poster) based on a recent scientific paper which he/she can select among a panel of suggested papers related to topics taught in the different courses of the section.
Learning outcomes of the course :
At the end of the course, the student will have learned how to:
- prepare an oral presentation - prepare clear, efficient, and attractive slides - prepare a poster - develop critical thinking with regard to scientific literature

This assessment is the one that will be considered for the first session. So there is no examination in June-July. In case of fail, student will be asked, for the second session, to do the same work on another scientific paper.
