Course contents :  
After examining the concepts around security (keywords), will be discussed to address the different types (conflicts, peacekeeping operations, crisis management, asymmetric wars, disarmament, irenology, war studies, deterrence) in the form of concrete examples and case studies to control the semantics of "objects" selected. Several issues around security and defense will be combined with, among others, military sociology, asymmetric warfare, risk taking, geostrategy, nuclear, media and public opinion, terrorism and resilience, technology and defense, the economy of conflicts, values ¿¿and underlying ethics, great strategists.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
-Control specific vocabulary and concepts of security in order to facilitate the reading of the geopolitical, geostrategic and military events related to past events, present and prospective field.
-Determine The elements of conflict types, operations, disarmament and irenology.
Gain understanding of doctrine and policy of major strategists authors selected message.
-Promote understanding by the student of themes related to the security, defense, international crises.
-Associate the theories of security in the dialectic of major international institutional and organizational actors such as the EU, NATO, OSCE, UN, ...
-Prepare Students to master the vocabulary associated in master 2 on "European Security and Defence Policy".
