Course contents :

| This course exposes the students to current questions in astrophysics, geophysics and oceanography through the attendance of the seminars and conferences presented in the AGO department. |

| A better understanding and a critical outlook on contemporary research. |

Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :

| None. The student will have to evaluate which seminars correspond best to his interests. |

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
|
| Attendance to the seminars and discussions with the speaker. |
|
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :
|
| The students will attend at least 10 seminars during the academic year. The list of the past and future seminars is available on the web server of the AGO department, with sometimes a copy of the slides in pdf or ppt. |

Recommended or required readings :

| The slides (if available) will be on the web site of the AGO department. |
|
Assessment methods and criteria :
|
| Attending 1 seminar will add 1 point to the mark, with a maximum of 10 points. Attendance will have to be certified in writing by the organiser.
For 5 seminars amongst those attended, we ask a critical summary in two pages maximum (in English or French). This report will have to be given or e-mailed (in pdf) to the 4 persons responsible at latest on the Monday following the seminar.
Each report will be graded, and will be worth 2 points.
For the second session, the 5 reports will have to be reworked, and 3 additional ones will be required. |
