Course contents :
 |
| This course will get into the main topic of contemporary development policies and programs: the poverty reduction strategies.
This course will introduce the poverty reduction strategies in the so-called "developing and emerging countries" trying, on the one hand, to replace these programs in an analysis of the practices and strategies of the actors of the "international development complex" and, on the other hand, to generate a particular socio-anthropological analysis of these programs.
In this purpose, the course will adopt these following specific objectives:
(1) To bring a conceptual precision on the concept of poverty (in the North and in the South) compared to close or derived concepts.
(2) To present the poverty reduction strategies in the international development diary (roots, dimensions, actors).
(3) To present the contemporary mechanisms of poverty reduction strategies in the developing countries at work within the Millennium Development Goals, especially.
(4) To approach the "buzzwords" of the international cooperation field which organize and normalize the practices of poverty reduction strategies. |
 |
Learning outcomes of the course :
 |
| Good knowledge of the social, economic, political, cultural or environmental stakes of the reduction poverty strategies.
