- Presentation and illustration of the main trends in research in the field of sociology of social movements.
- Presentation and illustration of contemporary movements and organizations in developing countries linked to the theme of globalization.

Learning outcomes of the course :

- General introduction to a specialised area of sociology.
- Knowledge of and critical approach to the main theoretical schools and leading authors.
- Introduction to the problems of globalization through the social movements and civil organizations relating to it.
- Questioning of the analysis of contemporary movements linked to globalization through the mobilizations and protests of developing countries, especially in South World..

- Lectures and regular question and answer sessions.
- Lectures by invited experts.
- 30 hours course (theory), given in the second term, on Fridays from 12 noon-2.30 pm.
