Critical revision of various graphical, mathematical and statistical data processing tools applied to real-life files resulting of environmental studies.
Learning outcomes of the course :
Environmental data processing - statistical and mathematical tools

To provide the student with sufficient knowledge to be able to select the right data processing method in function of studied case, to verify main assumptions of the procedure and to critically discuss the results.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :
Environmental data processing - statistical and mathematical tools

General knowledge of parametric statistics and of computer use.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
Environmental data processing - statistical and mathematical tools

A whole day in the computer room on the basis of practical cases introduced during the course.

Another whole day in the computer room on the basis of a practical case proposed for evaluation purpose.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :
Environmental data processing - statistical and mathematical tools

The lecture is given in modules covering each a half-day of 4 hours (1 credit=3 half-days), in a class room and with on-line and real-time use of processing tools. The practical part is achieved by the students with the same tools in the computer room.
