Course contents :  
The course is devoted to the quantum theory of the electromagnetic field. Covered topics : - quantization of the electromagnetic field - the free quantum field - atom-field interaction
Learning outcomes of the course :  
After completion of this course, the student will be able to understand the theory of quantum electrodynamics and some related phenomena.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Basic quantum physics.

The course consists of ex cathedra lectures supported by derivations on the blackboard.
